A bunchgrass, similar to Crested Wheatgrass but with finer leaves. It retains its greenness and palatability later into the summer than Crested Wheatgrass, although with a lower yield. It is very drought tolerant, growing in as little as 7” of precipitation. Can be found up to 9,000 ft. in elevation.
