Sand bluestem is a close relative of Big Bluestem. It is a sod forming grass. Which is primarily on the central and western plains. A tall grass growing to 7 ft. high. High yielding and good landscaping, wildlife cover. Used for controlling erosion on blowout sites. Can be found on elevations up to 7,500 ft.
