A long-lived, strong sod-forming grass adapted to low-fertility sites. Similar to Intermediate Wheatgrass but slightly more drought and alkali tolerant. Useful for erosion control. Adapted to areas with 11-18” of precipitation. It responds well to limited irrigation pasture situations as it can withstand extended drought periods but bounces back well with water. It can be found at elevations up to 10,000 ft.
