A very drought tolerant bunchgrass. Seed is very slow to germinate and a fall dormant planting is often helpful to allow for stratification. It grows 1 – 2.5’ tall. It makes an excellent reclamation species on dry sites up to 10,000’. One of the few grasses that do better if planted deep, normally 1 ½ ” is good, but it will also do well if it is necessary to plant along at the same depth with a grass mixture.
