Basin Wildrye is a slightly spreading, large bunchgrass. It is useful for cover. Poor seedling vigor, but one of the highest producing species once established. Grows to 6 ft. in height. Best adapted in precipitation zones of 8-12”. Can be found up to 10,000 ft. in elevation. Basin Wildrye was used as a staple cereal crop by Native Americans.
