For use in areas of high precipitation, for short rotation pasture mixes, and for stabilizing disturbed and eroding land. Good palatability but may occasionally cause bloat in ruminants. Contains estrogen that can cause animal reproductive problems. Cold hardy, moderate salt tolerance, poor acid tolerance. It can be found at elevations up to 9,000 ft
