Woods Rose

Call for Pricing

A long-lived spreading shrub. Most abundant in disturbed open sites with little other competition but is adapted to a wide range of conditions. It grows from 2’-5’ in areas of 12”-20” precipitation and is easily established. It is an important source of shelter for birds and small mammals. The rhizome system makes Woods Rose effective in erosion control. Plants are used as ornamentals near homes to attract birds and other wildlife. The rose hips are a source of vitamin C and are dried for use in flavoring teas, and puddings. Native Americans used the inner bark and roots to treat diarrhea and stomach aliments, and a tea was made from the bark to treat muscle aches.
