A long-lived high producing bunchgrass. Best suited for acidic to moist, saline to alkali areas with precipitation over 18”. It produces a large amount of coarse, tough, deep roots, and makes a good ground cover. Endophyte free varieties are recommended in areas where livestock will be foraging. Used for pasture, controlling soil erosion and as a turfgrass. It can be found in elevations up to 8,000 ft.
