A long-lived, very drought tolerant bunchgrass growing from 2-4 ft. high in elevations up to 9,000 ft. Grows rapidly in the spring and remains green and palatable through summer and fall with adequate moisture. Often found with Crested Wheatgrass but matures earlier. Nutritive qualities are excellent throughout the season because of its high digestibility and fairly constant protein level.
