A native, long-lived forb that occurs in the upper juniper, mountain sagebrush and open areas in aspen and coniferous forest in elevations from 6,000 – 10,000 ft. This species does well in areas that receive over 16” of precipitation. Fall or dormant seeding for hard seed stratification is recommended. Flowers are blue to purple and bloom from May to late June. Plants are normally 24-36” in height.
