A drought tolerant, rhizomatous, bushy forb in the Southwestern United States. Prefers full sun. Stems grow in all directions and can reach 3 ft. in height. Throughout most of its range the flowers are apricot to orange colored. The leaves are triangular, gray, and hairy. Normally found in desert areas in lower elevations but has been found in elevations as high as 7,000 ft.
